Hundreds of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of about £200,000 have been seized and destroyed by Kent Police.

The force found about 500 plants together with growing equipment after executing a warrant at Victory Park, Medway City Estate, in Rochester on Monday.

Police are attempting to identify those responsible for the cultivation.

Det Sgt Matthew Sherriff said: "The large scale production of cannabis is linked to violent and serious organised crime, as well as modern day slavery and the exploitation of vulnerable people. "

"We will always strive to stamp out this illegal activity and bring the perpetrators to justice."
