Work to repair a burst pipe that left thousands of East Sussex residents without water supplies is now "complete", South East Water has said.
About 8,000 properties were reportedly left without water on Wednesday after a burst main in Lancing Way, Polegate.
South East Water said in an update on Friday morning that it was "slowly returning the water to the pipework" in a "controlled way to prevent further issues".
Some businesses and schools were also forced to close, including the Willingdon Community School and St Catherine's College in Eastbourne as well as Polegate Primary School.
