A man has been arrested after a tip-off led officers to discover cannabis plants inside a house on a suburban street.

Nottinghamshire Police said 23 plants were found during a raid at a semi-detached property in Lodore Close, West Bridgford, on Friday morning.

A 20-year-old man found inside was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of a Class B drug.

"We are grateful for the information provided which has allowed us to take action and shut down this cannabis grow," said Sgt Che Sands, from the Rushcliffe neighbourhood policing team.

"Grows in suburban areas like this can bring additional crime to the neighbourhood and are a ticking time bomb as a fire hazard for neighbouring homes.

"All of the equipment used to power the grow will now be dismantled."
