Man jailed over sexual assaults on two children

A man has been jailed for a series of sexual assaults of two children.
Jacob Corrie, 31, admitted several offences involving sexual activities with a child and repeatedly inciting a child to engage in sexual activity in the Carlisle area from 2013 to 2014.
Cumbria Police said Corrie, who initially denied the offences before pleading guilty, was aware that the two victims were aged under 16.
He was jailed for six years and four months on Wednesday at Carlisle Crown Court.
Police said the offences involved nine counts of sexual activity with a child, eight counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and two counts of sexual communication with a child.
Det Con Rebecca Lynch from Cumbria Police said: "We hope that this sentencing sends a clear message to survivors of sexual abuse.
"We continue to urge anyone who has been victim of a sexual offence to contact police so that our officers can investigate."
Corrie was also given two restraining orders against the two victims.
