Plans to create one of the biggest electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs in Bradford city centre have been approved.

The 10 bays are to be located in a section of Bradford Forster Square Retail Park.

The bays will replace 19 spaces in the car park – a loss of nine spaces - but the application to Bradford Council argued there was an ample number of other spaces available for drivers throughout the car park.

A council planning officer said the charging points would enable customers and staff on the site to charge vehicles in a convenient location.

The hubs will be installed in a row of parking spaces in the south section of the retail park, next to Hamm Strasse, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

The application had stated the site was "strategically located" to boost electric vehicle infrastructure in the city.
