Murder charge after woman found dead in flat

A man has been charged with murder after a 47-year-old woman was found dead in a flat.

Police were called to the property on Ashe Place, in Normanton, Derby, at about 11:30 BST on Thursday and arrested a man.

On Sunday, Derbyshire Police said Thomas Turner, 63, had been charged with murder.

Mr Turner, of no fixed address, was to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Monday, the force said.

Officers have yet to name the woman who died.
