Bin lorry overturns after falling down steep bank

A bin lorry has overturned after falling down a hill in Saltdean.
The vehicle was being driven in Tye Close when it left the road, fell down a steep bank, broke through a brick wall and landed on its side on the pavement in Hamsey Road.
A spokesperson for Lewes District Council said: "Please bear with us if your waste is not collected today in this area, we will share more information on collections as soon as possible."
There were no reported injuries.

The spokesperson said: "We are aware of an accident involving one of our waste collection vehicles in Hamsey Road near Peacehaven, Telscombe and Saltdean.
"Thankfully, no-one was hurt by the incident, and the police are on the scene to manage the site and temporary road closure."
Recovery workers are on the scene to clear the road and remove the vehicle from the pavement.
