Driver dies after van collides with wall

A van driver has died after his vehicle collided with a wall.

Bedfordshire Police was called to the junction of Toddington Road and Grange Avenue in Luton at about 02:05 GMT.

Officers said a black Vauxhall Vivaro had "travelled at speed" along Toddington Road, before leaving the road and hitting a wall.

Ambulance crews attended, but the driver died as a result of his injuries. Anyone with CCTV, dashcam or any other information about the collision is asked to contact police on 101.

A clean-up operation took place and the road reopened mid-morning

The junction where the crash happened was closed for several hours, but reopened at about 10:00.
