School inspectors have praised Le Rondin School for the "transformational impact" it has on pupil's lives.

Ofsted rated the special education school as "excellent" across five categories, which is the highest possible score.

The report said pupils experienced high-quality education, positive relationships and the clear routines they needed to succeed.

Head teacher Paula Sullivan said the school was "absolutely delighted".

At the time of the inspection, 114 pupils attended the primary school.

The school was assessed in five categories: the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and welfare, leadership and management and early years provision.

'Proud parents'

The report also noted parents were "rightly proud" of the support their children received, particularly when it came to their child's social and emotional development.

Nick Hynes, director of education, said parents and carers should also be congratulated.

He said the result reflected the whole school community's commitment to every child getting the best possible education and support.

Mr Hynes added: "We are incredibly proud of Le Rondin and look forward to supporting them as they continue to provide exceptional opportunities for all their pupils."

Ofsted also said pupils benefitted from a broad curriculum, underpinned by an emphasis on personal development and communication skills.

Those are skills inspectors said were "the fundamentals of later success for most pupils."
