A man who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a vulnerable woman has been jailed for 14 months.

Muhamed Enwar Fadhlallah, 19, of Queen Street, Scarborough, had been filmed loitering around groups of women in the town at about 02:35 GMT on 26 November 2023 by a council CCTV operator, York Crown Court heard.

The victim, aged in her 40s, had been drinking and was lying on the ground when Fadhlallah picked her up, cuddled her and touched her breasts.

Fadhlallah was sentenced at the same court on Thursday.

Police were alerted to the incident by the CCTV operator and able to identify Fadhlallah from the footage.

Det Sgt Michele Fawcett from North Yorkshire Police said Fadhlallah was a "dangerous predator who sought out a vulnerable woman".

She said: "The victim has been incredibly brave to support the prosecution of this dangerous man."

Fadhlallah was also placed on the sex offenders register for five years.
