Applications are open for the latest round of the Social Investment Fund until 2 April

Charities and organisations can apply for grants worth more than £15,000 after the latest round of a funding scheme was launched.

The Social Investment Fund (SIF) in Guernsey said its Major Grants Programme had opened for applications from charities and registered non-profit organisations.

The SIF said the project was launched in 2021 and had awarded more than £5m in grants to a variety of groups to help run key services or develop new initiatives.

Any groups interested in applying for a grant through the scheme have been asked to contact the SIF through its website before 2 April.

Sadie Siviter de Paucar, lead officer of the SIF, said: "Major grants make a big difference to organisations which need to sustain their operations or develop new services responding to needs within our community.

"SIF has more funding available this year to benefit local charities with about £1m for our two rounds of major grants.

"We know that funding continues to be a serious challenge in the current economic climate, so we encourage charities from any sector to enquire about applying."
