Missing man died after getting stuck in muddy field

A 92-year-old man died from hypothermia after getting stuck in a muddy field, an inquest has heard.
William Morris Jones, from Rhoslan near Criccieth, Gwynedd was reported missing on 28 December 2024.
He was found a day later in a waterlogged field not far from his home.
The inquest in Caernarfon was adjourned while further investigations take place.
He was reported missing to police, with appeals on social media to help find him, the inquest was told.
He was found dead on 29 December.
Assistant Coroner Sarah Riley said: "He was found in a field which was extremely boggy and waterlogged.
"It appears he became stuck in mud while crossing the field.
"The route was one he would normally take, but conditions at the time were extremely difficult to pass."
A post-mortem examination found that he had died from bronchopneumonia caused by hypothermia.
