A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries after a crash on the A38 near Bristol Airport, police have said.

Emergency services were called to the A38 near Barrow Gurney, on the outskirts of Bristol, at about 16:30 BST after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car, Avon and Somerset Police said.

The road remains closed in both directions between Barrow Street and Barrow Lane.

Police said the motorcyclist's next of kin had been informed and drivers were asked to allow extra time for their journeys.

Officers said anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage should contact them.
