A cyclist is hospital in a life-threatening condition after being involved in a crash with a car.

Avon and Somerset Police said the emergency services were called to Great Stoke Way in Stoke Gifford, Bristol, at about 19:40 GMT on Tuesday after reports of the collision involving a green Kia Sportage.

The road was closed for several hours but reopened at 05:24, police said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
