Woman to help feed thousands in Turkey

A woman is to travel to Turkey to help prepare 2,000 meals a day during the last six days of Ramadan.
Sara Rashid usually runs a business making savoury snacks from her kitchen in Leicester but has now signed up to be part of a team of 40 people from the charity Mercy to Humanity, which will serve meals on a larger scale.
She previously travelled to the area with the charity in 2023 to serve meals to people affected by the earthquake in Turkey and northern Syria, which displaced more than 50,000 people.
"When I went the first time round during the earthquake, it was very overwhelming, but this time I am a lot more mentally prepared," she said.
"It humbles me. We are so privileged living in the UK with warm clothing, food, homes, family, we take everything for granted and when you go there and you see the people and how they live, they have nothing to their names.
"They have lost family members, they have lost limbs, they have lost children, they have nothing and they do not know where the next meal is coming from."
She added: "There is a sense of satisfaction at the end of it that you have achieved something so huge, so amazing and you have helped so many other people.
"It will be difficult, but it won't be more difficult than it is for these people to live their lives."
