Three members of a drugs gang responsible for flooding an East Yorkshire town with more than £3m worth of crack cocaine have been jailed.

Humberside Police said it had launched an investigation into the gang in 2023 following reports of an increase in local street level drug dealing and violence between rival groups in the Bridlington area.

Lee Jenkinson, Liam Langton and Luke Gilson were identified as ringleaders and were later charged with multiple offences.

The trio were sentenced at Hull Crown Court last month after each pleaded guilty to their part in the conspiracy.

Langton, 27, of Greetwell Road, Lincoln, was jailed for seven years and two months for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

Jenkinson, 32, of Market Walk, Driffield, was sentenced to four years in prison for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Gilson, 35, of Burstall Hill, Bridlington, received a jail term of six years and four months for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and supplying Class A drugs.

Police said Langton had been identified as the "puppeteer" of everyone involved in the operation, which resulted in more than £3m worth of crack cocaine being sold in the community.

Gilson also played a major role, controlling the supply of drugs, with Jenkinson being in control of an address used to stash and to distribute the drugs from.

Det Insp Matt Grantham, of Humberside Police, said: "The local, regional and national community impact this type of offending has is the reason we will continue to do everything we can to disrupt criminal networks, removing them from our streets."

Details of the case were only publicised last week by the force.
