Business owners in Guernsey will have the opportunity to find out how they can benefit from importing and exporting directly to France.

The States is hosting a free webinar on Friday with senior members from Brittany Ferries and the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce.

The event will share information about the opportunities and requirements of importing and exporting via the new ferry service, which is due to begin at the end of March.

Chris Morris, the States' head of international trade, said the new schedule "could be a real game changer" for some firms due to its "more consistent timetable".

He said: "It may be quicker or more cost-effective and so it is worth considering.

"But there are also considerations to do with importing directly from outside the common travel area."

Alice Gill, the executive director of Guernsey Chamber of Commerce, said it would "help inform businesses and develop relationships between the business communities in our two jurisdictions".

Business owners can register for the webinar by visiting the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce website.
